The Region

The Gippsland Lakes are East Gippsland's Riviera. With over 420 square kilometres of inland waterways, fishing and boating are key activities. Metung has the Hot Springs, a golf course and peaceful walks along it's shorelines. The Lakes offer a beautiful environment with abundant birdlife and natural nearby attractions such as the Ninety Mile Beach, Buchan Caves and several National Parks. There are several local wineries and an abundance of restaurants in the nearby towns. For those that are into cycling, the East Gippsland Rail Trail provides many kilometres of scenic riding. 

Metung is just over a two hour drive from the ski fields of Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain through the beautiful Tambo Valley and historic Omeo.
